YOUTH CRIME WATCH OF MIAMI-DADE

We are also very grateful to the Miami-Dade School Board and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Police Chief Gerald Darling for funding our Youth Crime Watch programs.

Here is what your school tax money has helped accomplish in this past school year.

  • Conducted 189 club meetings and 484 presentations, serving more than 40,731 students in the Miami-Dade public schools.
  • Conducted presentations on: YCW orientations, reporting crimes, school safety, school violence, anti-bullying, stranger danger, drug prevention, personal safety, gun awareness, character education, conflict resolution, dating violence, graffiti/vandalism, auto theft prevention, traffic safety, seat Belt Safety, cyber safety, summer safety, holiday safety, and McGruff.
  • Participated in YCW Blue Ribbon Week, YCW Safety Day, YCW Assemblies, Violence Prevention activities, Red Ribbon Week, Anti-Bullying campaigns, Back to School rallies, State of Florida Safety & Career Day, MDCPS Regional Center Principals meetings, MDCPS MPACT Steering Committee, YCW training for MDCPS School Resource Officers, MDCPS School Police Education Explosion Fair, School Board Member Marta Perez's Holiday Book Drive, safety seminars, Peace Day, Career Safety fairs, Library reading programs, Holiday Safety community events, Miami Dade College International Book Fair, Florida Marlins Youth & Community Campaign, YCW Poster & Essay Contest (on the topic: ``What Crime Do You Fear The Most and What Can You Do About It?'')  With all the above events, we were able to reach over 200,000 students in our schools.
